Eighth letter – My wishes

Friday, 9 May 2008

Just as any other child I also have my wishes. I long for freedom and for a peaceful living. Every child in Kosovo dreams about that hoping that it will come true because one should never lose one’s hope. I wish that peace should again come to Kosovo, that the monastery and church bells be heard again, and that the smell of incense be felt again on every corner.
I wish that the incense and church and monastery bells attract many honest and good people and that the church be filled with more people and children who truthfully pray to God and who respect Him. I wish that the whereabouts of the kidnapped persons become known and that the children without parents get more help. I wish that from my sky be removed the barb wire which made my own and my friends’ lives a living hell, without water (FREEDOM) and without food (PEACE), because the Albanians have put the barb wire across my sky. I wish I could peacefully pray to the Lord for all Serbian people, that all my wishes and my hopes for freedom come true.
I wish to breathe freely and not live in a cage like a bird which is lonely and sad because of that.
I wish I could be peaceful when my daddy goes to the post office, not to be afraid that something will happen to him. I wish I could live without anxiety and not be afraid every time I go to sleep. I wish that God would protect me, my parents and my sisters from all enemies and all evil. I wish I could walk to the lower part of Orahovac.
I wish that during that walk I forget about the sorrow and bad things that had happened, I wish I could meet lot of friends with whom I would spend time and share everything. I wish that the world be full of love and that there be no more wars, because God created this world with the intention that people get along and not be in war with each other.
My wish is that people would get along, and that the sun would shine upon us with lots of beauty and love. I wish to become a famous lawyer who will defend good people from the bad persons who are unjust towards them like the Albanians are towards the Serbs. I wish that the Mother the Most Holy Theotokos would protect us with her wings! I wish that all of this would come true because only in that way can I hope for further living.
If those wishes of mine come true then there is hope for normal life for every person and every child in Orahovac and in Kosovo.
